A personnel file shall be maintained by the district for each employee. Personnel files kept by the district concerning employees shall be considered confidential, kept in a secured location, and be under the custodianship of the appropriate district supervisor. Personnel files of employees who have left the district shall be similarly kept, but in an inactive file, for six years. After six years, inactive personnel files shall be microfilmed and kept indefinitely.
An employee shall have the right to review and inspect the contents of his or her personnel file as provided under the Bullard-Plawecki Employee Right to Know Act.
