As the Board of Education of the Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, we believe it to be our responsibility to ensure that every effort is made to conserve energy and natural resources while exercising sound financial management.

The superintendent shall develop and implement short and long range plans designed to conserve energy resources of the district.

Such plans should include, but not be limited to, procedures which will regulate the operation of energy use systems or activities which affect the use of energy, such as heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical, food preparation, water, transportation, school programs, building use, and custodial and maintenance functions.  The district will maintain accurate records of and monitor energy consumption and energy costs.

Members of the district staff and student body are encouraged to make suggestions to the superintendent, director of operations, energy educator and building principals which might aid in the conservation of energy.
