In appreciation of the services rendered by school district employees, the board shall:
- Honor all employees and board members upon their retirement by presenting them with a plaque of recognition;
- In the event of the death of a board member or an employee, or a death within their immediate family, or the death of a student, provide flowers or a charitable contribution not to exceed a cost of $55.00. (Immediate family shall be defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, parents or parents-in-law.)
In the event of the death of a public official or other prominent community member, the superintendent or board president is authorized to provide flowers or a charitable contribution not to exceed $55.00.
